Hey Folks! I am Dillon and I am pretty great, if I do say so myself! I am a street smart dane who knows what it's like to wander. I have decided that I like living indoors better. Gimme' Sofa! I am dashingly handsome with one blue eye one brown. The camera loves me. I am neutered and I have had my teeth cleaned. My foster mom insisted. I love her anyway! I like other danes and have an okie dokie relationship with the resident girlie Pug dog. I didn't care for a boy Schnauzer, but its an isolated incident and we were in the car and a bit stressed out so don't hold it against me, okay? I don't like it when a dog gets in my face and doesn't respect me.
I was on my own before being picked up by animal control. I have a few scars from the way things were. Maybe the hair will grow back, maybe not. The toe won't straighten out because it healed that way. I will have to tell you the story someday, its a corker! I am not afraid to say I dumpster dived a bit. (I was hungry. Things were bad there for a while.) It landed me in the shelter and now I am living the good life. Getting fed good food and putting on weight. I got that neuter and it was a bit of a shock. I lost a bit of weight but I'm gaining again now.
I had fleas pretty bad and though I don't have fleas anymore I am still healing up from the mess they made.I have discovered toys and have a dane playmate here in foster care. We rip up stuffies and play tug. I can be protective of my food so I need be fed all by myself. I steal food from others and will get into accessible food containers. Sorry, but until I am trained up a bit more I am going to be a stinker about food. That's the street in me. I still freak out with selfish joy when I see food so hold onto that bowl tight. I am learning to take treats more gently, but until I get the hang of it, watch those fingers.
The cat around here hides from all us dogs so no ideas on what her problem is. I haven't decided if I am better off with cats in my life or not. I ignore stranger cats but might pack up with other dogs that don't like cats for a chase and grab. It all depends. If you have a cat and want to adopt me. I will have to meet the cat first to see how its going to go.
Squirrels are another matter. I could chase me some
squirrels if off lead. Squirrels, good
eats! If it were up to me...I prefer
to be an only dog since I'm making up for lost time and really like
people best. All the attention for me sounds pretty good. I could go for
another dog that respects me. I don't mind telling you what I want.
I will let you know when I want to eat, go out, come in. If you don't
respect the whine I will be force to bark!
Whatcha gonna do?

Restrictions
Dillon is not completely trustworthy with cats and definitely not
trustworthy with pocket pets. If he is adopted
before his training to eat calmly and take treats gently is complete, his new home will need
to finish this training.
Dillon will probably not do well with yappie dogs or dogs that are
protective of their toys, people or food. He is still learning that dogs
that do this really don't want to fight, just be ornery and bossy. Older
dogs who know the ropes would be ideal matches for Dillon.
When all said and done, my medical costs to
rescue will be $300 If
you want to help but can't adopt please consider donating to my medical
bills. It will help me and those who come after me if my bills are paid.
The donation button above sends funds directly to
Dillon.
